Coffee Then Oysters is a media and commerce brand founded by a working coffee-shop owner in Beaufort, North Carolina. We make useful stories and durable everyday goods for people who care how things work, where they come from, and whether they will still be worth having decades from now.

Future Old Things

We believe the best objects become more beautiful through use. Stainless steel should scratch. Canvas should fade. Wood should darken. A ceramic mug should become the one you reach for every morning.

Every product must be genuinely useful, exceptionally durable, more beautiful than the ordinary version, and worth discovering in a family kitchen thirty years from now. If it does not pass all four tests, we do not make it.

Tested in Beaufort

Our working coffee bar is a real-world product laboratory. Coffee tools can face thousands of drinks, commercial dishwashing, drops, spills, and daily employee use before release.

The Journal

The Journal gathers essays, field notes, town guides, profiles, coffee and food stories, coastal history, travel, and writing about objects worth keeping. The brand begins in Beaufort, but remains curious about working waterfronts and interesting coastal communities everywhere.
